Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 13, 2026
Measured Margins LLC (“Measured Margins,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides Shared Sense.
This Privacy Policy explains the personal information Shared Sense collects, how we use and disclose it, how we handle retention and deletion, and the choices available to you.
1. Scope and Who We Are
Measured Margins LLC (“Measured Margins,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides Shared Sense. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and otherwise process personal information in connection with the Shared Sense mobile application, website, content, features, and related services (collectively, “Shared Sense” or the “Service”).
Shared Sense is designed for adults who manage family technology decisions. It does not provide independent child accounts.
This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through Shared Sense. Third-party websites, applications, platforms, and services have their own privacy practices.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide, information created through your use of Shared Sense, and limited information received from service providers and platform partners.
The categories below describe the information Shared Sense may process.
3. Account and Authentication Information
When you create or use an account, we may process your email address, display name, account and profile identifiers, authentication provider, authentication metadata, session information, and account creation or update timestamps.
If you use a supported third-party sign-in provider such as Apple or Google, that provider may give us information necessary to authenticate your account, which may include a provider identifier, name, email address, or relay email address depending on the choices you make with that provider.
We use this information to create and authenticate accounts, secure the Service, communicate with you, and manage access to Shared Sense.
4. Household and Membership Information
Shared Sense organizes certain information and functionality around a household. We may process household identifiers and names, membership relationships, adult roles, membership status, and related timestamps.
This information is used to determine who may access household-scoped information and features.
Authorized adults in the same household may be able to access household information as described in this Policy.
5. Information About Children
An authenticated adult may provide a child's first name or nickname, birth month, and birth year.
Shared Sense does not ask for or store a child's exact date of birth as part of the current child profile.
We derive age-related eligibility and guidance context from the birth month and year provided.
Child information is associated with the adult's household and is used to support age-relevant guidance, activities, and personalization.
Shared Sense does not provide independent child accounts, and children do not independently authenticate to the Service or submit Community reports.
If we learn that information about a child has been provided without appropriate authority, or that a child has attempted to use an adult account independently, we may restrict access to or delete information as appropriate and consistent with applicable law.
6. Family Context, Interests, and Technology Information
You may provide information about family interests, technologies a child uses, has access to, wants, or is considering, and other household or child context relevant to family technology decisions.
We may use this information to determine eligibility for guidance and activities, personalize recommendations, explain why content is relevant, and operate family features.
This information may include structured technology relationships, household interests, context signals, archive status, and related timestamps.
7. Recommendations and Interaction History
Shared Sense may create and maintain recommendations, recommendation reasons, recommendation status, associated household or child references, and related timestamps.
We may also record interactions with Shared Sense content and activities, such as when content is opened, saved, dismissed, or completed, where those features are available.
We use this information to operate the Service, maintain continuity, understand in-product state, and support relevant recommendations.
Shared Sense currently does not use a third-party behavioral analytics SDK. Recording product interactions within Shared Sense is distinct from using a third-party behavioral analytics or advertising service.
8. Shared Ground
If you use Shared Ground, we store information you intentionally add to your household's Shared Ground, which may include titles, statements, entry type, household or child scope, source or provenance information, version history, archive state, authorship references, and related timestamps.
Shared Ground is household continuity information. It is intended to preserve things a family has learned, practiced, discussed, decided, or agreed upon.
If another authorized adult remains in the household after one adult deletes their account, Shared Ground entries and history may remain with the household while identifying authorship references for the deleted adult are removed where appropriate.
If the household itself is deleted, its Shared Ground information is deleted subject to the limited retention circumstances described below.
9. Community Reports and Community Review
Authenticated adults may submit Community reports about technologies, online experiences, behaviors, trends, or other issues.
A Community report may include the report description, observed date, related technologies or topics, submission status, submitting-account relationship, archive state, and related timestamps.
Community reports are not anonymous to Shared Sense when submitted. Shared Sense maintains the relationship between a report and the submitting adult while that relationship is needed for operation and review.
Other users do not see the submitter's identity through the ordinary Community experience.
We may review reports, associate related reports, connect reports to Community signals, maintain review history, record evidence or conclusions, and publish consumer-facing summaries.
Community behavior does not automatically create family personalization or recommendations.
10. Subscription and Purchase Information
Apple processes purchases and subscriptions made through the App Store. Shared Sense does not receive your full payment-card or bank-account information for App Store purchases.
We use RevenueCat to support subscription customer identity, purchases and restores, entitlement status, and subscription-state reconciliation.
Shared Sense provides RevenueCat an opaque customer identifier and subscription-related information needed to perform those functions. Our current implementation does not intentionally send child names, child birth information, family interests, Shared Ground content, or Community report text to RevenueCat.
Apple and RevenueCat may independently process additional transaction, device, store, network, or technical information under their own services, agreements, and privacy practices.
Shared Sense may maintain local billing and entitlement records such as provider, opaque customer reference, purchaser-profile association, assigned household, entitlement tier and status, validity or expiration information, and reconciliation timestamps.
11. Technical, Security, and Operational Information
Our service providers may process technical information necessary to operate, secure, deliver, or troubleshoot the Service. Depending on the provider and context, this may include IP addresses, request or connection metadata, device or platform information, authentication events, logs, fraud or abuse signals, and backup information.
Shared Sense does not currently maintain a separate advertising or behavioral-analytics profile based on this technical information.
We may use operational information to protect accounts, prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems, maintain availability, and comply with legal obligations.
12. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to create, authenticate, and manage accounts; operate household membership and access controls; provide age-related guidance and personalization; generate, prioritize, explain, and manage recommendations; provide and preserve Shared Ground; operate, review, deidentify, and maintain Community reports and signals; provide, restore, reconcile, and manage subscription access; record and maintain in-product interaction state; communicate about accounts, security, subscriptions, policy changes, and support requests; detect, investigate, and prevent misuse, fraud, security issues, and unauthorized access; troubleshoot, maintain, and improve the Service; enforce our Terms of Use; protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, Measured Margins, and others; and comply with applicable law, legal process, and lawful requests.
13. Children and Family Privacy
Shared Sense is designed for adults who manage family technology decisions. We do not provide independent child accounts.
Adults may provide limited information about children to support age-relevant guidance and family features. We intentionally use birth month and year rather than requiring a child's exact date of birth in the current child profile.
Children do not independently authenticate or submit Community reports.
Some Shared Sense activities may be used by an adult together with a child, but the authenticated adult remains responsible for the account and for the information provided to Shared Sense.
If you believe information about a child has been provided to Shared Sense without appropriate authority, contact us at support@measuredmargins.com.
14. Advertising, Sale, Tracking, and AI Providers
We do not sell personal information.
We do not use or share personal information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not use information about children for advertising.
Shared Sense currently does not use advertising SDKs or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs.
Shared Sense currently does not send account, child, household, Shared Ground, or Community content to an artificial-intelligence or model provider for processing.
These statements describe our current practices and, where stated as commitments, our current business policy. If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide notice or obtain consent where required by law.
15. How We Disclose Information
Service providers and platform partners. We use providers that help us authenticate users, host data and application infrastructure, process subscription status, deliver platform services, and support operation of Shared Sense. These providers process information on our behalf or under their own applicable platform terms.
Household members. Authorized adults in the same Shared Sense household may have access to household information as described in this Policy.
Legal and safety purposes. We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or a lawful governmental request; enforce our agreements; investigate fraud or misuse; or protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Measured Margins, or others.
Business transactions. Information may be disclosed in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or transfer of all or part of the Shared Sense business, subject to applicable law.
At your direction. We may disclose information when you direct us to do so or otherwise authorize the disclosure.
16. Service Providers and Platform Partners
Our current providers and platform partners include:
Supabase, which provides authentication, database, row-level authorization, and application/Edge Function infrastructure.
RevenueCat, which supports subscription customer identity, purchase and restore flows, entitlement status, and subscription reconciliation.
Apple, which provides App Store distribution and payment processing and may provide authentication if you choose Sign in with Apple.
Google, which may provide authentication if you choose Google sign-in.
Supabase authentication flows may rely on downstream email-delivery infrastructure for confirmation, authentication, or account-recovery messages. The specific underlying provider may be controlled by our infrastructure configuration and may change over time.
Development and build infrastructure, such as Expo/EAS, may process source code, build artifacts, project metadata, or technical build information. Our current application implementation does not intentionally send household or family content to Expo/EAS as part of normal runtime use.
Service providers may maintain technical logs, backups, network information, or security records according to their services and applicable agreements.
17. Household Access and Shared Information
Family information is generally associated with a Shared Sense household.
Authorized adults in the same household may be able to access information about children, family context, recommendations, Shared Ground, and other household features.
Users outside the household do not receive access to household information through ordinary Shared Sense functionality.
If household membership changes, access to household information may also change.
18. Deidentified and Aggregated Information
We may create deidentified or aggregated information that is not reasonably intended to identify you or a particular child or household.
We may use deidentified or aggregated information to operate, secure, understand, research, and improve Shared Sense, including to evaluate content or Community trends.
Where we maintain information as deidentified information, we will not intentionally attempt to reidentify it except where permitted by law for purposes such as testing whether deidentification methods are effective.
19. Community Retention and Deidentification
Community reports are handled differently depending on their review state and relationship to Community signals.
A report that remains unreviewed and is not linked to a Community signal may be deleted when the submitting account is deleted.
A report that has entered review, contributed to a Community signal, or is otherwise needed to preserve Community integrity may be retained after account deletion with the submitting-profile reference removed.
Review history, signal relationships, and integrity records may remain when needed to preserve the meaning and reliability of Community review.
Deidentifying the submitting-account reference does not necessarily remove every fact contained in report text. Users should avoid including unnecessary personal information about themselves or others when submitting a report.
20. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it is maintained, including operating Shared Sense, maintaining active accounts and households, preserving information intentionally retained in Shared Ground, operating Community review, reconciling subscriptions, protecting service integrity and security, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and complying with legal obligations.
Different categories of information may therefore be retained for different periods.
Shared Sense currently does not promise a fixed deletion period for every category of information.
Archiving an item within Shared Sense does not necessarily delete the underlying record.
Provider-controlled logs, security records, transaction records, or backups may remain according to provider practices and legal requirements even after information is removed from the active Shared Sense product.
When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete it, deidentify it, or retain it where permitted or required by law.
21. Account Deletion
You may initiate deletion of your Shared Sense account from within the Service.
The consequences depend on your household.
If another authorized adult remains in the household, your application profile and membership are removed, while household information such as children, family context, recommendations, and Shared Ground may remain with that household. Identifying authorship references may be removed where appropriate.
If you are the sole owner and the household cannot remain after your account is deleted, Shared Sense requires confirmation before deleting the household and household-owned family information.
Certain Community information may be retained in deidentified form as described above.
Certain billing or subscription-reconciliation records may remain, including an opaque subscription customer reference or household association needed to process later subscription events, where appropriate.
Provider logs, security records, backups, and other provider-controlled records may remain according to provider practices and applicable law.
Deleting your Shared Sense account does not cancel an Apple App Store subscription. You must manage or cancel an App Store subscription through Apple.
If application data deletion succeeds but deletion of an authentication-provider record encounters an error, additional support or provider action may be necessary to complete the account-deletion process.
22. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to limit unauthorized access to personal information and protect Shared Sense.
Our current architecture includes authenticated account access, household-scoped authorization, database row-level security, server-derived identity for privileged operations, service credentials confined to trusted server-side functions, and server-controlled subscription reconciliation.
No security measure, system, transmission method, or storage technology can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and promptly notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.
23. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on the feature, you may be able to review, update, archive, or remove certain account, child, family, and Shared Ground information within Shared Sense.
You may choose whether to provide optional family context and may update family information when those controls are available.
You may initiate account deletion through Shared Sense.
You may manage App Store subscriptions through Apple.
Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may give you rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information, or to appeal certain privacy decisions. Some rights are subject to exceptions.
To make a privacy request, contact support@measuredmargins.com. We may need to verify your identity and authority before fulfilling a request.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.
24. Data About Other People
Shared Sense allows adults to provide information about children and household members. You should provide information about another person only when you have appropriate authority to do so.
If you believe Shared Sense contains personal information about you or a child for whom you are responsible and you did not authorize its submission, contact us so we can evaluate the request.
25. International or Cross-Border Processing
Our providers may process or store information in locations different from the location where you use Shared Sense. Privacy and data-protection laws may differ across jurisdictions.
Where applicable law requires particular safeguards for cross-border processing, we will use legally recognized mechanisms appropriate to the processing involved.
26. Third-Party Links and Services
Shared Sense may link to or discuss third-party websites, applications, platforms, research, or other resources.
This Privacy Policy does not govern third-party services. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
27. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Shared Sense, our practices, service providers, or legal requirements change.
When we make changes, we will update the effective date.
If a change materially affects how we process personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where appropriate or required by law.
